Notes From R.K.
Nothing is as raw and as vulnerable as an artist’s first book. Mediocre Sunflower is the first in what will hopefully be a long line of poetry from the author Scott Felix. Scott is a personal friend of mine and a fellow poet with Jack Wild. His ability to find poetry and beauty in the mundane is exquisite. The poem above is breathtakingly striking because it’s simplicity connects to all of us while it’s depth shakes our very core. Loneliness is something that reaches all races, sexes, classes, human beings, and only together can we cure it.
